Experience paying off for Fircroft

Recent mixed fortunes in the oil & gas industry have left suppliers to the sector with a seemingly unpredictable climate to face. Despite this, recruitment services provider Fircroft has continued to enjoy sustained growth within its core industry, citing experience as key to avoiding any detrimental knock-on effects.

Record prices and demand for oil and gas, indicates the sector is currently booming. However, the industry is not without complications; record profits at Shell and Exxon Mobil come at a time when there are job losses at BP, making for somewhat contradictory market conditions.

There is little to suggest any repercussions for suppliers who have become accustomed to such fast-paced changes, as Sarah Nordman, Fircroft’s Head of Business Development suggests:

“The oil & gas industry has always been cyclical in nature, and though there is increased demand for professionals at the moment, there hasn’t been any notable effect on our capabilities. Through the international agreements we have in place with major operators, we enable candidates to migrate between roles to follow demand. This is not only applicable to this industry, but between all the technical industries in which we operate, where candidates’ skills are often readily transferable.”

As Fircroft looks to bolster its position by supporting existing agreements in new territories, the company is making the most of experience gained over the past four decades, as Sarah Nordman continues:

“We’re seeing increasing demand for experienced suppliers to industry. Last year was our strongest year to date, with many of our clients extending current agreements past 2010. This is testament to our reputation as a reliable partner and we are expecting to see similar levels of growth in 2008.”
